Fromboluti’s mixed media collages are a beautiful abstract compositions, comprised out of flowing shapes that overlap and interact with each other. The artist utilizes various colors and their combinations to imbue her work with unique atmosphere and emotion.
Iona Fromboluti was born in New York City, and is an alumnus of the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She has had solo exhibitions at Denise Bibro Fine Art, NYC; the More Gallery and Gross McCleaf Galleries in Philadelphia, PA; and the Vose Gallery, Boston, MA. Her work has been included in several group exhibitions including Smith College, Northampton, MA; Hofstra University, Long Island, NY; The National Academy of Design, NYC; the Southern Allegheny Museum, Loretto, PA; Marymount College, NYC; and the Philadelphia Academy, Philadelphia, PA. Her public collections include the Butler Institute, Youngstown, Ohio, the Asheville Art Museum in North Carolina, and the Pew Charitable Trust Collection, Philadelphia, PA. She teaches at Pratt Institute and has been featured in numerous publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer and Art in America.

The artist studied in Europe, joining various painting ateliers and art courses such as Sotheby’s and ICA - Institute of Contemporary Art/Christies in London. In the late 90s’, she enrolled at “The Art Students’ League of New York”, where she first became involved with printmaking. Galley uses various techniques and materials, and color remains her signature.
The artist has participated in more than 50 group and solo exhibitions in the US, Mexico, Italy, England, Switzerland, Spain, and Romania. In 2005, she was selected to participate in the I Biennale of Etching and Graphic Work organized by the Cultural Council of Cáceres’ Town Hall, in Spain. That year, she also participated in the Arad International Biennale of Contemporary Art (Arad, Romania). In 2007, she participated in the Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art in Italy.
