About the Item

There has always been an interval of movement in space, the marking of sun and seasonal cycles has been presented as time and yet feeling into a prehistorically carved stone there is a sense that time can be a measurement of life because it is life and thus tyme. Albert Einstein said, People who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. Through creative and somatic investigation my relationship to time has changed and I now use the term “tyme” to reflect that new relationship. The physicist, Fred Alan Wolf asserts that if we do indeed create time then we must be able to cultivate it. So for now time is tied to how reality is perceived and programed by our culture and tyme is the cultivation of that dimension. From my research in and out of the studio I changed my orientation of time from quantity to quality. Yes, I still measure time by calendars and clocks because that allows us to communicate plainly, but the fundamental shift in how I embody tyme is reflected through the images in this Tyme Series.
