At the core of "Boy Bee," we encounter the symbol of the blue face cap. The blue color carries diverse connotations, representing tranquility, freedom, and a sense of calm. In this artwork, the blue face cap becomes a powerful symbol of the wearer's individuality and self-expression. It suggests that the young man is using his choice of headwear as a means of asserting his uniqueness and setting himself apart from societal norms or expectations.
The face cap becomes a metaphorical shield, allowing the young man to navigate the world on his own terms, symbolizing his desire to create his own identity and carve his own path. Idehen
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Idehen seeks to address and depict our journey of self-discovery. The journey is more important than the destination, I've often learned.
Idehen in bini, means to stand firm. To be confident in ourselves, which of course grows as we journey through various paths. Sometimes, one may hold on to arrogance if necessary because the world would often tries to enforce its projections on us. It is imperative to stand firm even as we walk across these borders of existential questions about why we are here and what we are to do.

Shadows and Diamonds
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
At the heart of "Shadows and Diamonds," we encounter the theme of shadows. John ingeniously uses shadows to represent the obscured aspects of our individuality, the parts of ourselves that are hidden from the outside world. These shadows can be seen as the unexplored depths of our personality, our fears, or our secrets. The young man in the artwork seems to embrace his shadows, suggesting a willingness to acknowledge and confront those hidden aspects of his being.
By portraying shadows as an integral part of the artwork, John challenges us to embrace our own shadows and accept them as essential components of our identity. The shadows in "Shadows and Diamonds" serve as reminders that the multifaceted nature of human existence is not limited to what is visible on the surface but extends far beyond, into the realm of the intangible and the mysterious.
While shadows represent the hidden aspects of self, diamonds in the artwork symbolize the facets that shine through, the qualities and characteristics that we choose to reveal to the world. Diamonds are known for their brilliance and sparkle, and in "Shadows and Diamonds," they represent the positive attributes that we proudly display to others. They symbolize our achievements, our talents, and the qualities that make us unique and valuable.
Through the juxtaposition of shadows and diamonds, John invites us to reflect on the delicate balance between revealing and concealing different aspects of our identity. The young man's beaded necklace, adorned with diamonds, suggests a celebration of self-discovery and the courage to embrace and showcase the diverse elements that constitute our true selves.
In addition to the symbolism present within the artwork, Makama John...

"Self Love," a poignant creation by Adegbola Deborah, celebrates the essence of self-acceptance and the transformative power of embracing one's true identity. At the heart of this artwork is a young woman, beautifully depicted with a sense of authenticity that transcends societal norms and standards.
The title, "Self Love," serves as a guiding principle for the viewers, emphasizing the importance of unconditional self-love. The accompanying message is a powerful reminder that true self-love goes beyond superficial aspects such as physical appearance. It encourages us to look within and understand the depth of our being, recognizing that our worth is not determined by external factors like the shape of our face, the size of our eyes, the length of our hair, or the quality of our clothes.

About Artist
Deborah is a very promising budding Nigerian artist who was fortunate to be born into the idyllic serenity of the agrarian town of Saki, surrounded by the immensely inspirational botanical splendor that the community had to offer. These assets combined to nurture the newly discovered talent waiting to be expressed by the young artist who was only fifteen then, having been born in the nineties.
Deborah usually derives her creative impulse from nature, everyday experiences, her own sensitive reactions, and her unique interpretation of events and phenomena with a marked inclination towards realism. Hence Deborah's works are at once her own means of catharsis and a vehicle for the showcasing of nature's beauty and by extension human beauty with a particular emphasis on feminine charm.
From another perspective, her works represent her own reaction to everyday emerging and re-emerging phenomena hence are inevitably her own self-disclosure. Having been raised within a polygamous home she finds herself equipped with the necessary native intelligence for a mature interpretation of experiences.
Deborah is both a gifted artist and a talented scholar. She attended the Polytechnic Ibadan Eruwa campus after which she obtained a degree in fine arts from Olabisi Onabanjo University emerging as the best student at graduation.
A prominent part of Deborah's style is the use of flowers or floral background patterns in her works. These serve to reflect her enchantment with nature. Also, traces of impressionism are to be found in her creations. In highlighting feminine assets she chooses to focus on women...
