Peter Tunney (b. 1961) is a legitimate force of nature with boundless creative energy, spreading his positive messages in unconventional ways and delivering works of art to a worldwide collector base. He creates in almost every medium: paint, collage, wood, photography, found objects, and discarded materials.
Peter Tunney is an American visual artist, publisher, art dealer, socialite and former Wall Street executive. He currently lives and works between New York City and Miami, Florida.
Tunney first made his fortune investing in biotechnology stocks on Wall Street. He then went onto found for the now closed SoHo gallery "The time is Always Now" where for nine years he showed a vast collection of work by the famed wildlife and fashion photographer Peter Beard, some of which was created on site. In 1994 Tunney was featured on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, as profiled by Robin Leach, and mentioned as one of the worlds most eligible bachelors. Later Beard and Tunney had a dramatic falling out. A tumultuous period followed leading to Tunney's living in the nightclub Crobar while doing a performance piece and eventually to rehab.
Today Tunney is a visual artist who works in the genre of neo-pop and whose work has been compared to that of Mel Bochner and Christopher Wool. Tunney is also known for his "Tunney Money" a system of art given in place of cash relinquished. one of his more high profile works so far was a billboard he did in the New York City borough of the Bronx alongside the Major Deegan Expressway which spelled out "GRATTITUDE" (in all capital letters with an extra T added on for emphasis) a word which Tunney has articulated frequently in his visual works. Tunney is also known for his surfboards which he turns into artworks often with his sayings such as "City of Dreams" or the aforementioned "GRATTITUDE" embellished onto them rendering the pieces of sports equipment works of art. In 2009 Tunney was commissioned by now Senior advisor to the President of the United States Jared Kushner (for whom Tunney had previously created a stencil overlay taken from his work "Don't Panic" for Kushner's newspaper The New York Observer) to establish an immersive work called "The Experiment" in the lobby of Kushner's fifth avenue sky scraper 666 Fifth Avenue.
In the Wynwood section of Miami he opened a gallery dedicated to his work called the "Peter Tunney Experience". Now forthcoming with the kickoff of the new NFL season at Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins in Miami Gardens, Florida, is a large scale multiple mural project mostly of bright colorful abstract works some with a tip of the hat to Football, a project which arose out of a dialogue between Tunney, Jessica Goldman Srebnick (CEO of Goldman Global Arts and daughter of the late famed real estate developer, preservationist and arts visionary Tony Goldman) and the Dolphins. Among the artists whose efforts are included in the body of work are; Assume Vivid Astro Focus, Vhils, Crash, MOMO, Logan Hicks, Jen Stark, Dasic Fernández, 1010, How & Nosm and AVAF. He has done large silkscreen celebrity paintings and screenprint print technique in the manner of Andy Warhol. He has been shown in shows alongside Damien Hirst, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat,
Kaws, Takashi Murakami, Yaacov Agam and Peter Max.
In April Tunney's work "Americans (CTF)" (oil on vintage rubber mat) was sold at auction by Christie's for EUR 7800 against an estimate 7,000 - 9,000 EUR. On March 8, 2013 a record was set for the artist's work at auction when "WTF (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot)" 2013 acrylic and collage painting on canvas 60 1/8 x 71 7/8 in. (152.7 x 182.6 cm) sold for $37,500 against a pre-sale estimate of $20,000 - $30,000 at Phillips auction house in New York City.

Peter Tunney
Peter Tunney (b.1961) is a legitimate force of nature with boundless creative energy, spreading his positive messages in unconventional ways and delivering works of art to a worldwide collector base. He creates in almost every medium: paint, collage, wood, photography, found objects, and discarded materials. His nontraditional life, cache of extraordinary experiences, and countless wild adventures serve as the foundations for his work. Since declaring himself an artist in 1987, Tunney delivers his messages of Grattitude, Don’t Panic, The Time Is Always Now, Fear Less, Love More and Change the Way You See Everything to a vast and global audience. His dynamic textual images blanket New York City, which he affectionately calls “The City of Dreams”, as giant billboards. Like magic these billboards spontaneously appear and disappear, an intentional phenomenon as Tunney himself is a trained magician. Tunney has owned and operated ground floor studios and galleries in lower Manhattan for the last 30 years. Open daily and free to the public, they embody his deep connection to and understanding of the city. In addition to his current Tribeca space on Leonard Street, for the last eight years Tunney has also maintained a gallery in the heart of Miami’s famed Wynwood Walls. As Wynwood’s first tenant, The Peter Tunney Experience has been a fixture in of the thriving Wynwood neighborhood. Throughout his 30-year artistic career, Tunney’s entrepreneurial spirit has remained strong. In 2015, he partnered with friend and developer Jessica Goldman Srebnick to form Goldman Global Arts. GGA curates and executes transformative art projects for causes, cities and corporations around the world. The GGA Gallery inside the Wynwood Walls, an offshoot of the curative branch, currently exhibits the work of and represents over 31 street artists from 16 countries who have painted murals in and around the Wynwood Walls. Yet, at his core, Tunney is much more than a visual artist and businessman. He believes in humankind and the good that results from performing countless small acts of kindness. Over the years Tunney has spent tireless human energy and donated countless works of art to deserving organizations. Most recently, his main philanthropic efforts are devoted to criminal justice reform, supporting wrongfully convicted individuals, and ending the stigma of mental illness. Tunney happily lives and works between New York and Miami with his wife Amy, their 6-year-old son Arthur - affectionately known as “Art” - and their 3-year-old daughter named "Sonnet".

Pop Art Brut Collage Mixed Media Print, Painting, Burning, Tape, Marty Greenbaum
Located in Surfside, FL
Marty Greenbaum (1934-2020)
''Brooklyn Local in Weege Wisconsin''
Lithograph, with hand-coloring, blind stitching, stitching, burning, tape collage and paint
with Jewish, Hasidic, Sleepy Moishy character.
Marty Greenbaum (1934-2020) was an American painter, mixed media assemblage and book artist.
Greenbaum is best known for his mixed media assemblage, painting and artist books. Greenbaum appeared in three films: Hallelujah the Hills in 1963 by Adolfas Mekas, Life Dances On, in 1980 by Robert Frank, and The Present in 1996 by Robert Frank. Between 1962 and 1965 he took part in happenings by Allan Kaprow and experimental dance by Yvonne Rainer. Greenbaum authored his own happenings, i.e. Coney Island Carny, including artists such as Eddie Barton, Remy Charlip, Paul Kaplow, Paul Krasner, Al Hanson, Ed Blair, Allen Ginsberg, John Hammond, Eddie Rabkin, Lou Gossett, Renee Renee, Allan Kaprow, Phyllis Yampolsky, Thomas Hoving, Jackie Ferrara, Peter Schumann, Jim Bell, Bill Marshall, Corla Lopez, Bruce Waite, and Mark di Suvero, as well as organizing the Hall of Issues with Phyllis Yampolsky at The Judson Memorial Church.
Greenbaum had several teaching positions in the New York City public school system and was a member of the Creative Artists Public Service program twice, he also participated in various exhibitions with book objects. His work is in several public collections including The Art Institute of Chicago, Artists' Books, The Brooklyn Museum Collection, The Chrysler Museum, Norfolk, VA, Citibank, NYC, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY, Jacksonville Art Museum, Jacksonville, FL, Madison Art Center, Madison, WI, SUNY at New Paltz, NY and more.
Books as Objects
"Greenbaum, an early conceptualist, burned books in the 1960s, exhibiting the remains as 'corpses.' Today, he makes fetishistic notebooks filled with colored paper and scribbled equations, accretions of feathers and Rhoplex."
"Marty Greenbaum and Barton Lidice Benes destroy texts to create sculpture: Benes 'Bound Book,' a literal rope and wax imprisonment, and Greenbaum's 'Cutting Up,' a mixed media paste over of muted colors." Some of his most notable artist books include: "Batman" 1963-67, "In '84 Returned in 2004". Two stories about Marty from James Pernotto: we met at William Weege print shop in 1974 when he drove out from NYC with Alan Shields and Paco Grande and I was a lithography printer hired to work with them. Alan recalled on the trip out that Marty was working on his altered books and putting airplane glue on the pages and lighting it with a match. Enough said. I printed for Marty.
