Ramon Lascano
Series based on Geometric Figures -- Sculptural Books

2005

About the Item

This is an artwork based on the transformation of a book. It uses the book historic print in the endsheets as background to a geometric form made up by folded pages. The result is an elegant sculptural creation in black and white, highly appealing to the intellect. Because the work is constructed on wood board, it is primarily meant for hanging, but it is also effectively displayed on a table top. This work is particularly wonderful for someone who likes art and uses books daily, such as an academic, lawyer, or bookseller. Ramon Lascano is an architect, born and educated in Argentina. His interest in geometric forms derives from his training and his development as an artist. As a curator, Lascano organized and ran a gallery in the Berkshires. As an artist , he exhibits mostly in the Hudson Valley and points adjacent.

Make Me A Believer, Original Contemporary Mixed Media Geometric Abstraction
By Glenn Fischer
Located in Boston, MA
Make Me A Believer, Original Contemporary Mixed Media Geometric Abstraction 24" x 24" x 2" (HxWxD) Repurposed paper on panel Hand-signed by the artist. Artist Glenn Fischer repurposes various papers and print materials, cutting up different sections of color, and combines them into newly imagined geometric abstract compositions. The combination of the circular centerpiece and the linear nature of the cuts is reminiscent of a sunrise or sunset as it passes over a horizon line. In this case, Fischer has combined various shades of yellow, red, and green to stand against the white brick lay of the negative space...
