About the Item

Yaacov Agam, born in 1928 in Rishon LeZion, is a world-renowned Israeli artist and a pioneer of kinetic art. His works explore movement, the interaction between the viewer and the artwork, and the concept of the so-called “fourth dimension.” Through sculptures, paintings, installations, and graphic works, Agam invites the viewer to experience a unique artistic journey, where geometric forms and the play of light create dynamic visual illusions. Agam gained particular recognition for his limited edition works, including abstract and geometric compositions that change depending on the viewing angle and lighting. His works have been exhibited in leading museums worldwide, such as the Georges Pompidou Museum in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. The presented work, “Star of David,” is a color lithograph on paper, hand-signed by the artist and numbered (edition of 150). The image measures 54 × 56 cm, with a framed size of 79 × 83 cm. The piece features bright, dynamic colors and Agam’s characteristic play of light and geometry, creating a multidimensional effect. The composition presents an abstract interpretation of the iconic symbol, transformed through the lens of kinetic art, so that its visual perception changes depending on the viewing angle. The work is in excellent condition. “Star of David” is a valuable addition for collectors of international modern and Israeli art, reflecting Yaacov Agam’s unique approach to the interaction of form, color, and movement.
