The American composer, who studied with Wallingford Riegger and Carl Ruggles, and often collaborated with choreographers and dancers like Martha Graham, Matti Haim, José Limón and Thomas Hewitt, introduces himself to Pecci Blunt through friendships and common environments. He describes himself as a friend of Virgil Thomson who defined him as a "neo-contrapuntal" influenced by Carl Ruggles.
