Very Rare Vesuvius lava stone writing set.
Torre del Greco (Naples).
19th century.
4 objects with small sculptures (cameos) depicting the poet Petrarch, mythological female figures, and a male profile with an unusual headdress.
Everything is placed in the original vintage case. Similar items were popular as souvenirs for travelers in the 19th century.
Among the objects there is a knife - letter opener with the inscription "Pompeii" on the blade.
On the small object, which was probably supposed to hold the pen, there is an inscription "Pompeii."
On another - "Vesuvius.
