About the Item

Yaacov Agam, born in 1928 in Rishon LeZion (then Palestine, now Israel), is a world-renowned Israeli artist and a pioneer of kinetic art. His works explore movement, the interaction between the viewer and the artwork, and the concept of the so-called “fourth dimension.” Through sculptures, installations, and graphic works, Agam invites viewers to experience a unique artistic journey, where geometric forms and the play of light create dynamic visual illusions. Agam gained particular recognition for his limited edition works, including abstract and geometric compositions that change depending on the viewing angle and lighting. His works have been exhibited in leading museums worldwide, such as the Georges Pompidou Museum in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. “Homage to Mondrian ( Blue Border)” is a limited edition color serigraph with pigments baked onto 0.25-inch thick mirrored glass, hand-signed by the artist and numbered 34/90. The mirror measures approximately 28” x 28” (71 x 71 cm). The medium — serigraph with pigments on mirrored glass — creates a unique visual effect, characteristic of Agam’s kinetic approach, where perception shifts depending on the viewer’s angle. , yet remains a striking example of Agam’s innovative fusion of color, light, and geometry.
