Acrylic and sand on canvas. On the back title , signature and date of 'work.
Ferrari's work has all developed around the sign, passing moreover through different interpretative phases.
This 'work belongs to the period after 1995, in which the linearity of the sign gives way to chaos, forms meet and collide freely in the space of the canvas, the writing - previously used - breaks in all directions.
The sign is totally free from superstructures and is able to express itself in its totality, manifesting itself dynamically in the entire surface of the painting.
These works are made with black sand from Otranto, a material that allows Ferrari to express all the theatricality of the sign and that even today represents the fundamental element of his painting: through the sand, the sign traces its paths in the space of the painting and beyond.
