About the artist
Alejandro Legorreta (Mexico, 1987)
I studied Hispanic Literature at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). My interest in the visual arts developed from photography to painting. I describe myself as a monothematic, sensual artist. My work is a syntactic exploration of the modern gaze, which, although constantly bombarded by advertisement, maintains its wild, primitive nature, practical in its sensory function. Rest your eyes or demand attention; sensuality or excitement; my paintings run along this axis, and for this I use my hands and a soft or bright palette of colors, and a mixture of textures.

Alejandro Legorreta
