Late 20th Century oil and acrylic abstract expressionist on board by Alexander Dorofeev (called Alex). Signed and dated bottom centre, presented in plain wood frame.
A mesmerising aerial abstract view of the city and port of Kazan with an Intriguing use of perspective and colour.
Alexander Dorofeev was born in Kazan in 1954, where he still lives today. He graduated from the Architecture Academy in Kazan in 1979 and then worked as an architect. His artistic career began during his training at the academy with graphics and drawings. In 1985, Alexander Dorofeev decided to concentrate solely on painting. He has been a member of the Union of Artists since 1993.
Today he mainly works in mixed media on canvas. Many of his paintings are in the "Museum of Fine Arts" in Kazan and in the State Museum in Tatarstan. His works are in state and private collections, as well as in museums in America, France, Israel, Estonia, Italy, Ireland, Finland, Holland, Russia and Germany.
