A vortex of turquoise spins on a verdant ground in this shimmering abstract canvas by Alice Teichert. Contained within a square format, the burnished layers of translucent acrylic are underlined by a calligraphic scroll and strip of burgundy. This work may be paired with others from the Elemental group of paintings.
Multidisciplinary artist Alice Teichert is known for bold colours and layered transparencies interspersed with script like line drawings. Teichert studied music, philosophy, visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in Germany, France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the MacLaren Art Centre, Global Affairs Canada, the Musée de la Ville de Valence, France.
