Expansive and emotionally charged, Living it Up by Alison Johnson is an evocative oil on canvas that captures the shifting drama of land, sea, and sky in a single breath. A moody, cloud-strewn atmosphere rolls above a vivid abstracted landscape, where color becomes emotion and form flows freely from intuition. Painted in sweeping strokes and layered hues, the composition invites both contemplation and exhilaration.
Johnson’s command of texture and tone creates a harmonious dissonance—cool blues and purples clash and blend with sudden bursts of ochre, emerald, and aquamarine. The horizon blurs and expands, leaving space for the imagination to roam. Light breaks across the canvas not in lines but in suggestions, as if the scene is in a state of becoming rather than being.

Alison Johnson lives in Warwickshire and works from her Studio based at Fargo, Coventry. Alison’s work is driven by the desire to display atmosphere and emotion of a place. Through art she expresses feelings that are often inexpressible through words. Her interest in nature and non materialistic beauty has been a constant source of passion since childhood, be it relationships between people, the struggles of life and the ever changing but constant landscape around. Fueled by a previous career in nursing, Alison aims to combine these emotions. Since studying art Alison has exhibited across the UK including Brighton, London, Chester, Wales, Yorkshire, and various Galleries in the Midlands. Her work has also reached international scale with work hanging in Italy, America, France, and the Middle East. She has completed various commissions with clients such as the Prince of Saudi Arabia and The Waldorf Hotel London. Inspiration is driven from travel, feeling and seeing wild and raw coastlines, to bleak and smoldering moors. Music and emotion are also translated through a visionary vehicle.
