André Cottavoz
Le Paysage, French scene

1961

About the Item

Painted in 1961 in the south of France, Le Paysage's jewel tones and energetic, thick brushwork lure you into not a literal landscape of paint and asks you to discern it's true content. It has charm, expressiveness, abstracted content and idiosyncratic nature! A delight to hang in a smaller intimate spot. The framing is carefully done with silvered 24 karat leafing around the float area of the frame and then a wide panel to allow the viewer to focus in on the composition itself and the texture of the paint. Andre Cottavoz is very well noted artist of the French and Paris school of art and his works trade internationally. he has a strong following in Japan. He is noted for his incredibly thick paint use and distinctive style.
