Encaustic and oil with acrylic frame
Andrea's Spring Grafitti is dominated by romantic shades of blue and pink, creating a vibrant first impression. The layered rose-red haloed circles give depth to the graffiti and hints of more spring colors emerging beneath. Stripes of metallic gold arranged horizontally are interlaced with the vertical lime green marks, displaying vigor with a soft flickering, like the organic doodles created in spring. As with all of Andrea’s textural encaustic works, the torching and layering of molten beeswax with oil are reflective of nature’s interconnection.
