Anita Loomis' "I Threw My Smile at a Beautiful Bird" is a playful abstract oil painting on canvas with the loose geometric shapes, active paint surface and touches of gilding that are characteristic of her work, lending the piece a primitive feel. Though the painting's color palette is predominantly coral, there are deliberate touches of aqua under the silver gilding that can be seen in the detail photos. This abstract painting is oil on canvas with painted edges and touches of silver and gold leaf. The artist's signature is along the left edge of the painting.
Anita Loomis creates paintings that explore facets of human dialogue and relationships. Her work has been exhibited at Miller White Gallery, South Dennis, MA; Fountain Street Gallery, Boston, MA, and various exhibitions in New England, Pennsylvania, China, and Japan. Her work is collected privately. Loomis is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, MA.

Anita Loomis (b.1964, Wiesbaden, Germany) creates paintings that explore facets of human dialogue and relationships.
