About the Item
In 1953 Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008) asked his master Willem De Kooning (1904-1987) to give him a drawing and erased it to demonstrate that even just by "erasing" one can create a new work of art.
Here we go much further: Ariel Soulé and Anna Pennati have accepted the challenge and, for the first time, two artists have painted one on half of a painting of the other, modifying, erasing, CENSORING freely through their own vision of an image.
In fact, this is censorship, but a censorship that CREATES something new. And whoever knows even a little bit the psychology of an artist, knows how unthinkable it is to let someone enter in such an invasive way in one's own territory, usually forbidden. Not a two-handed creation, but an intervention, even a total one, on a finished work.
A rearrangement of images in SEQUENCES that leads to inevitable, but very interesting CONSEQUENCES that will be seen not only in the resulting works, but also in the reaction of the artists themselves and of the spectators.

Born in Milan, from an early age Anna showed an innate attraction to drawing and colors. After graduating (Maestra d'Arte) from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, she began her career in the lively and stimulating Milanese art scene. Her works were immediately received with enthusiasm by critics and the market.
Never satisfied with success, Anna Pennati ceaselessly continued her personal and artistic journey in search of the perfect synthesis.
She thus went through various stylistic phases: a draughts woman of rare skill, she soon broke away from the academic style to approach forms and colors where the graphic layout dominated the scene, with distortions of the figure that slowly tried to free itself.
There followed a phase in which the work was born from the canvas. In other words, the initial application of color was followed by the recognition of shapes and figures that the artist slowly brought to the surface from the depths of her mind.
In 2001 she participated in the Artexpo in New York and subsequently worked in London. The Artspace Galleries, Mayfair, one of the most prestigious art venues in the English capital, was her reference point/ address for that period.
In Milan she met Valery Giscard D'Estaing, former French president; a man of refined culture, who bought one of the portraits Anna Pennati dedicated to him.
Anna Pennati is an artist addressed to the international art world, in her 25-year career she has participated in over 50 exhibitions in private galleries and museum spaces, including the Museum of Capuchin Cultural Heritage of Assisi, Miart in Milan, Artspace Galleries in London and the Northwest Sezession in Wilhelmshaven (Germany).
Pennati cleverly switches from one subject to another with great range, from time to time using a style and a technique more appropriate to the particular purpose she sets. In general, her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, which makes the strong signs prevail, alongside color, which is the absolute protagonist of her semi abstract paintings.
In the latest works, forms, colors and lines continuously chase each other, sometimes "collaborating," sometimes "excluding" each other to arrive at artworks where the research is aimed at the archetype of ideas. The works are thus the essential expression of thought and dialogue with the viewer both visually, and mentally, allowing themselves to be slowly perceived.

View AllBack to Itaca by Anna Pennati alchemy series - acrylic on canvas - 80x100cm
Located in Milano, MI
Return to Ithaca is part of a series of works dedicated to the myth of the Odyssey.
Anna Pennati has always been attentive to the theme of mythology, a subject on which she has developed a large number of works.
Stylistically, the work falls among the artist's Alchemy, where the human form slowly disappears to make way for abstract forms that are actually the sublimation of figures.
We can in fact see Ulysses here not only as a man, but in his entire evocative power, his archetypal.
The return to Ithaca actually represents the return to our deepest origin.
Important work that has been shown in several exhibitions and is now exceptionally made available for the market.

"100x100=1", Pierre Morquin invites us on an initiatory journey into an abstract, dreamlike universe. Geometric lines and shapes, in bright, vibrant colors, intertwine to create a complex, dynamic composition.
The painting evokes a sense of movement and transformation. The lines seem to stretch into infinity, while the shapes metamorphose as you look. The artist invites us to let ourselves be carried away by the rhythm of the painting, to let our imagination wander.
We can see an Aboriginal influence, with motifs reminiscent of cave paintings. The painting could represent an imaginary map...
