Framing options are available, please get in touch. The Patterns Of Stardust series of abstract paintings draws inspiration from the scientific study of meteorites, interstellar dust and pre-solar grains exploring our interconnectedness with the universe (not in the metaphysical sense but through actual physical matter). The two books that provided food for thought and initial visual inspiration were Living With the Stars: How the Human Body Is Connected to the Life Cycles of the Earth, the Planets, and the Stars, by astrophysicist Karel Schrijver and his wife, Iris Schrijver, professor of pathology at Stanford University, and Meteorites published by Natural History Museum. Anna Sudbina started working with photographic images of thin sections of the meteorites under cross-polarised light showing their complex mineral and crystal composition to create the abstract canvases that are in fact firmly rooted in the natural world around us. Anna Sudbina is a contemporary painter, whose work combines elements of the process led abstract and figurative art. She lives in London. In essence, Sudbina’s point of departure is a debate between choice and chance. Her hands choose to control her chosen mediums, acrylic and ink using small found objects, a process which is juxtaposed by the chance involved in gestural mark-making, such as the independent behaviour of materials, a splash of ink or the unpredictability of mixing colour. In building a composition, Sudbina finds herself in a meditative state, guided by her subconscious thoughts, memories and experiences, each painting becoming its own spiritual journey.

  • "Set Us In Stone I" (abstract, blue, Parisian, graphic, bust on natural canvas)
    By Nicholas Evans
    Located in Paris, IDF
SET US IN STONE I 2022 Paris, France Originally created as part of Nicholas' solo exhibition "This, and Thereafter (Plumes)," December 10, 2022 - January 7, 2023. The theme illustrated the enigmatic uncertainty around what might happen after life. A range of paintings were presented – vibrant and ethereal – touching on different aspects of this notion. Each painting had a different point of view, oftentimes focusing around the inevitability of what is to come, and if and how it influences the present. This particular piece centers around personal legacy, how you will be remembered, and how your life vanishes into an abstraction as time goes by. This notion is visualized with a bust set in stone. The technique Evans used was a mixing of water-based ink with a hint of blue, that he knew would react when overlaid with white acrylic, pulling out a lighter hue of the blue ink. The white silhouette of a portrait set in stone creates a ghostly continuation of the underlaid pattern. Option to create a pair alongside "Set Us In Stone II" (as pictured). Price and size are per painting. Evans Deventer...

  • "Lus Osculi" (Abstract Black & White, Graphic Painting, Roman-inspired, Neutral)
    By Nicholas Evans
    Located in Paris, IDF
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Roman term "Los Osculi," translating to "right to kiss," the artist delves into a compelling exploration of the past's intriguing customs. In ancient Rome, women were prohibited from drinking as it was believed to lead to adultery and even possess abortifacient properties. Consequently, the husband and male family members of an "honest" woman possessed the right to kiss her on the mouth to ensure her sobriety. The allure of fleeting kisses, whispers of scent, and the sensuality of suspicion captivated the artist's imagination. On an antique French canvas...
