About the Item

“Ode to the Beloved. Divine Apsara” 100 × 80 cm, acrylic on canvas This work is inspired by the plasticity of the temple sculptures of Khajuraho — a sacred complex dating back to the 10th–12th centuries, where the female figures of apsaras, nayikas, and temple dancers embody not sensuality for the sake of seduction, but sensuality as a path to the divine. The apsara on this canvas is the embodiment of sacred feminine presence. Her gaze, the curve of her body, the rhythm of her ornaments — all of extraordinary beauty — speak the silent language of devotional love. She does not utter words — her posture and every contour speak the language of bhakti — subtle service to God through love expressed in form, movement, and touch. She dedicates herself to the Divine — not in opposition to the body, but through it. Such images are not merely about eroticism, but about a sacred union: • between body and spirit, • between the earthly and the heavenly, • between the feminine and the masculine, • between the human and the Divine. This is an ode to love that purifies. An ode to presence that unites. An ode to the Beloved — to the One who is always near, who eternally receives our dance of life as a prayer. Always is He honored in thought and heart, Always is His service a blessing. He is the dwelling of saints, my only refuge. I praise Him who is dear to Parvati, Nilakantha, the infinite God. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with the painting.
