About the Item

Abstract Art, Picasso Style, Multicoloured, Original Oil Painting, Signed By French artist Beatrice Werlie, early 21st Century Signed by the artist Oil painting on canvas, unframed Canvas size: 32 x 21.5 inches Sensational abstract oil painting by a French female artist named Beatrice Werlie. A wonderful nod to the Picasso style of abstract art, using the artists supreme technique of mixing unusual colours together. The striking mix of red, yellow and blue brings a rich sense of warmth to the piece. The concept of 'abstract' was defined by Picasso, but many artists have looked to the Spanish iconic painter as a source of influence through the ages. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. The work has excellent provenance having come from a large collection of the artists work in Normandy, France. The artist exhibits with the Galerie Artitude, Paris. Condition report: The painting and canvas are both in a very pleasing condition.
