Benjamin Weaver creates spatial tension through his use of contrasting colors arranged in a geometric framework. Imagery and color work both with and against each other to create movement within the composition. By the artist’s careful placement of line and use of subtly graduated color, forms seem either to recede or project, constantly shifting within the picture plane. Weaver accentuates these structural relationships by working with a simplified palette and reduced forms, though the ideas at work in his compositions remain highly complex.
This minimalist geometric abstract acrylic on canvas painting mounted on panel with an Op Art flair is part of Weaver's "Cubes Divided Equally into Three" series, with squares, rectangles, triangles, and polygons. It is signed and dated on the back. No need to frame -- includes hanging hardware and ready to install.
Weaver’s work has been exhibited in galleries and juried shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, and is held in the permanent collections of Capital One, the Fox School of Business at Temple University, Episcopal Academy, Cube Smart, The Dane, and many private collections. He maintains a studio in Philadelphia, PA.

EQUIVALENCE 124- Acrylic on cut Linen - Red, Pink Abstract Geometric Painting
By Linda King Ferguson
Located in Signal Mountain, TN
This painting on cut linen canvas by Linda King Ferguson depicts a diamond shape that is dominated by a horizontal vesica piscis shape. The two intersecting circles are a dark salmon orange and a deep wine red (left to right). The canvas at the intersection of the two circles has been cut and peeled back to reveal that the back of the painting has been painted pink. While the trangular shape above the interseccting circles has been painted an ashy brown, the lower section has been left raw.
Her Equivalence Series began as a feminist project; works that subvert the historically male gaze and a material language speaking of gendered concerns. Her color choices first came from Helen Molesworth’s essay, Painting With Ambivalence, published in WACK! Art of the Feminist Revolution. The Essay includes a large reproduction of Mary Heilmann’s 1979 painting...
