The inspiration for the palette of “ She Thinks Too Much” was inspired by “Jazz”, my favorite painting of my first exhibition at Patrick Jones Gallery . “She Thinks Too Much” radiates a sense of energy & anxiety with so much color and movement with the fast long brush strokes (hence the title) . The work leads the viewer left to their own interpretation to what I was thinking as I painted . Is it a colorful map or perhaps some sort of alien blueprint? Busy but with depth. Often, I do not know why I paint what end up on the canvas. It’s like a dream, you wake up trying to figure out the meaning, and if I was to research the meaning of “Pink Dream” the apple represents love, beauty, and wisdom while the knife represents injustice and fear. A flame in a dream can represent fear of exposure of vulnerability. Outlines of faces could represent a reflection of someone I know or a part of myself that I have yet to discover. This was my second painting to incorporate unprimed canvas as the backdrop for a work. Each panel represents a wing. The bones of the painting are an abstract representation of what you would find on any Monarch butterfly.
