I am constantly seeking ways to express the feeling of being grounded in the natural world. My process involves observing familiar places—coastlines, ridgelines, granite paths—and reinterpreting them through layers of paint that reflect both the memory of the moment and the emotion it evokes. Painting is a meditation for me, a way to honor the stillness and strength of the landscape.

Bri Custer is a New Hampshire-based painter whose work explores the quiet power of nature through abstraction and gestural mark-making. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts and has exhibited throughout the Northeast. Her paintings are held in private collections across the U.S. and reflect a deep connection to the landforms of New England, where she lives and works. Custer’s art is driven by a desire to simplify, elevate, and “extol” the natural beauty she encounters daily.
