Artist Statement:
I’m interested in the emotional residue that lingers in a place—how the land records movement, history, and presence. My paintings are built from layers of observation, memory, and mood. I often find inspiration in the overlooked: a clearing, a patch of earth, a sky just before weather changes. I use abstraction to distill these experiences into something both familiar and open-ended.

Bri Custer is a New Hampshire-based painter known for her intuitive abstract landscapes. Her work draws from her surroundings in New England and is deeply informed by process, atmosphere, and the natural environment. With an MFA in Visual Arts, she exhibits throughout the Northeast and has paintings held in private collections nationwide. Custer's work resonates with viewers seeking connection to both place and emotion.
