There is an area in far North Idaho called Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. I have been up to this big river valley area many times and it is truly beautiful. This painting was one of many inspired by that amazing country. The piece is painted on plexiglass and mounted on cradled wood with natural sides. It comes ready to hang.
About the Artist
Brian Sostrom’s paintings of water and sky are not your typical picturesque seascapes. They use moody dark blue hues combined with a soft atmospheric sense of light to create something mysterious and mesmerizing. Painting with acrylic on both sides of a Plexiglas panel, Brian uses this clear surface to achieve a pronounced sense of depth and a translucent quality in the scenes. The cropped, square-format compositions do not depict distinct places, but rather seek to elicit a personal emotional response. Looking into the ripples of waves disappearing into a soft horizon, or the obscure, agitated clouds, there is an impression of both emptiness and eternity. Brian was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and his paintings are clearly inspired by the natural beauty of the region.

- Warped Fabric, Abstract PaintingBy Patrick DuffyLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Artist Patrick Duffy demonstrates linear forms, initiating warped dimensions. "The Cosmos is central to my work, creating a dialogue between the imagination and the fundamentals of all things space," shares Patrick. He explores newly learned concepts and unique ways to visualize the cosmos through design. Within his creative process, shapes become symbols of time, guiding the eye and mind to think of dark solar windswept patterns that are balanced and engaging.About the Artist
Artist Patrick Duffy creates multi-scaled abstract compositions that seek to realize patterns through process, form, and color. Growing up in the coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine, he started creating artwork very early. He explores time, space, theoretical, and science fiction themes, describing his works as translated visions of paradoxes. Patrick received his BFA from Pratt Institute in 2006, being part of many shows in New York, New England, and Houston, TX.
