About the Item
Created as part of the Walks Collection which I began during Covid. These paintings all celebrate a particular walk done at a particular time of year! Stockbridge Down is one of my favourite places to walk my young working cocker spaniel, Scout, who sits patiently whilst I sketch. These paintings record fragments of landscape; glimpses of trees, hills, fields and sky gradually slotted together like a jigsaw. It is a cold place in the Winter with views on every side so pink and purple just seemed exactly the right colours for a January day.

Artist BIO:
CAROLINE HALL worked as a reporter and presenter with the BBC in Southampton before moving to Berlin in 2000 with her family. She graduated from Winchester School of Art with a first class honours degree in Visual Art in 2004, and completed a Masters in Painting in 2007. She was named as an Artist to Watch by emerging arts specialists Degree Art in 2009. Her work is in collections worldwide.
