About the Item
In this piece, the artist has developed many beautiful textures in wood block. There is both finished and distressed areas of wood in the center of the work, surrounded by a border of white with a hint of red tint. The texture comes from scratches and sanding of the surface of the wood, revealing different tones with each mark. At the same time, the work is abstract and very organic in nature.
Carolyn Bardos is an artist, writer and dramatist who lives in Vermont where she maintains a studio. She has been recognized as a gifted artist of intensity and depth. Bardos has exhibited in Europe and throughout the Northeast.
