About the Item
This acrylic on canvas painting has dramatic white and gray features. This makes it a minimalistic color and composition scheme. There are black, dripping pools of paint that are hazed over by white on the left of the pictorial space. The compelling quality of the color of black is subdued by the mystery of the white and what it might suggest. This piece is signed by the artist in the back and does not need to be framed.
George Simmons is an Upstate New York artist who focuses on printmaking, painting and fine art photography. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with an MFA in studio art, Simmons exhibits regionally and has been the recipient of photography awards.
