About the Item
Woman in Gris, 2018
Christopher Mudgett
A quintessential example of Mudgett’s evocative modernism, Woman In Gris (2018) captures a profound moment of stillness through its delicate use of Mudgett’s signature palette of muted gray tones. The painting tenderly renders a female figure, her form both grounded and ethereal, as it emerges from the interplay of light and shadow. Mudgett’s masterful manipulation of grays imbues the subject with an almost sculptural presence, while simultaneously suggesting a dreamlike detachment from the material world. The subtle interplay of geometric shapes within the composition—lines, angles, and curves—adds layers of complexity to the image, inviting the viewer into a contemplative dialogue between abstraction and representation.
Exhibited as part of Mudgett’s celebrated Gray Matters solo show in Los Angeles (2019), this work stands as a poignant exploration of the emotional resonance found within the simplest of tones. It speaks to themes of identity, the passage of time, and the intersection of the human form with the intangible. Woman In Gris is not merely a portrait but an introspective reflection on the nature of being, rendered in the artist’s signature balance of precision and sensitivity.
As a modern classic, this piece encapsulates the quiet power of subtlety, inviting a deep emotional response from the viewer, and solidifying Christopher Mudgett’s reputation as a visionary in contemporary art.

Invisible Women Rosa
Located in New York, NY
Angels Grau is a Catalan artist who spends her time between Barcelona, New York, and a small village located in the breathtaking Priorat, one of the most notorious wine regions in Europe.
This combination allows her to have the best of three worlds; it brings together the creativity and passion that her paintings demand.
"I invest time in my work. You must look at paintings on different days, with different eyes. There is a need to go back to it again and again.”
Born to a family of artists, she grew up surrounded by drawings, tapestries, and paintings that awakened a special sentiment that over time matured into her work. A graphic designer first and painter by evolution, in 2018 she decided to make the leap into becoming a full-time artist. Nothing has deterred her since.
After traveling the world and bringing up four children who are almost living their own lives, the artist feels the need to empower the role of women inspired by her own journey. “Invisible Women” is a tribute to each and every woman that fights from anonymous positions, in everyday jobs and everyday lives, to improve their family, their society, their world.
Some of her pieces are part of the personal art collections of different CEOs of fortune 100 companies. “Invisible Women” is part of a recent purchase...
