Artist Comments
"Chasing Secrets was inspired by brilliant fall colors and the feeling of breaking loose from the things that hold us back," explains artist Cynthia Ligeros. "In fall, suddenly the colors burst forth. I wanted to capture that exciting feeling of freedom. That shows in the contrast between the muted colors along the edges versus the organic shapes and brighter colors in the center. Whenever I create geometric forms, I like to mix in a bit of chaos. It's all about growing and breaking free."
About the Artist
Cynthia Ligeros creates abstract, complex works that usually begin with a single driving emotion. She currently lives in Colorado and loves the work of many artists, such as Mark Rothko. Cynthia loves finding inspiration in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. If you look closely at any of her paintings, you can find a little bit of blue sky hidden somewhere.
