About the Item
An exceptional abstract expressionist painting by Spanish-German artist Daniel Marin (b. 1978). Marin was born in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, Germany of Spanish immigrants, and began to paint at age 16 in Germany, eventually moving back to his home country of Spain, where after going through a period of figurative painting, he settled into abstract painting to best express his complex inner world and mystical feelings. His paintings have been compared to some of the 20th century’s most prominent artist such as Gorki, Pollock, Twombly, and Jasper Johns, and he has had exhibitions all over the world, and finally in 2014, his first exhibition in New York with which he had great success. Mixed media on canvas, signed and dated 2015 lower right, as well as signed and titled “Conocimiento, 2015” on verso. Dimensions: 79 in H x 39 in W, unframed.
