About the Item
The woods are lovely, dark and deep…
A forest in snowfall. A space both shadowed and luminous. It draws you in — quiet, vast, unknowable — and yet calming in its purity. The snow softens everything. What once felt turbulent becomes still. You are alone, but not lost. This moment is not about resolution, but about presence — about being held by silence and reminded that all things pass.
Visual & Technical Description
This monochrome abstract painting captures the essence of a forest during snowfall. The upper half is built from vertical, textured strokes that suggest trees obscured by darkness and snow, while the lower section, sculpted in soft, flowing relief, evokes the ground gently covered in fresh white silence.
The contrast between tension and softness is central: the surface holds both density and release. Created using a reinforced plaster technique, the painting invites slow looking — a meditative engagement with texture, light, and shadow. Finished with a protective varnish, it offers not only visual depth, but a sense of stillness and quiet restoration.
