About the artist
Dario Sandoval (1993) Guadalajara, Jalisco. His main focus is oil painting, but he is open to various techniques. His painting has an abstract touch with figurative ideas, bringing together mixtures of his experiences, with traditional Mexican art and folklore. Among his favorite painters are Tamayo, Lamm, Klee and Picasso, but he is also a great admirer of local and regional art as well as pre-Hispanic art. Currently he has a deep focus on printmaking and continues to learn this discipline. He lives in Guadalajara and works in his house located in a coniferous forest where he finds the harmony to work intensely. Every week he visits professional engraving workshops where he is in contact and in coexistence with the most prominent engravers of the Jalisco plastic movement.
