Spring Snow by artist Debbie Pakzaban is painted in the style of Abstract Impressionism. Abstract Impressionism is an art movement that originated in New York City, in the 1940s. It involves the painting of a subject such as real-life scenes, objects, or people (portraits) in an Impressionist-style, but with an emphasis on varying measures of abstraction. Abstract Impressionism is a form of abstract painting in which artists use colors instead of object representations in their artworks. In this movement, artists commonly use soft brush strokes to build large areas. Their ultimate goal was to express wisdom, mental focus, and inner emotions. This piece was painted in June 2021 in the artist' studio in Houston. Debbie Pakzaban uses mostly bright bold colors in her abstract and floral paintings. Debbie paints in her studio in Houston and is represented in one of the oldest galleries in Houston. She has taken workshops with in New York City.
