About the Item
"Influence 9" is a 22 x 30 inch acrylic painting on paper in teal, yellow, red-violet, blue and indigo. A layer of iridescent dots form a bead-like surface that changes with the light and the position of the viewer. Branching forms overlap and spill into each other in an exuberant meditation on connection, exponential growth and our ever-shifting spheres of influence. "Influence 9" extends to the rough deckle edges of heavy handmade watercolor paper and is signed on the reverse. This painting is float mounted in a white wooden frame measuring 27 x 35 inches.
Denise Driscoll’s paintings are expansive accumulations of mark, line and form in energetic color. Her painting process is meticulous and meditative, generating unplanned compositions that emerge as each added layer obscures and illuminates what lies below. Her work invites extended gazing.
