At First Light, Signed Contemporary Blue Abstract Digital Painting 24" x 24" x 1.5" (HxWxD) Archival Print on Canvas Hand-signed by the artist in verso. This square format digital painting is reminiscent of a cloudy skyline overlooking the horizon as the sun subtly rises over the ocean. The sea's surface, though just the suggestion of it, appears calm and still, with strong horizontal brush strokes and a soft modulation of color that calls forth the feeling of a misty sea breeze. A soft color palette of blues, pinks, browns, oranges, and whites blend together at dawn as the world begins to reawaken. Artist Commentary: This painting has a color scheme of very early morning light as the sun begins to rise above the misty morning clouds. It could be either an abstract landscape or seascape, but there's a sense of water. Either way, the painting is minimal, calm, and tranquil. About the Artist: Denise is originally from Missouri but has lived in Denver, Colorado for over twenty five years. Growing up, she never gave a lot of thought to creating art until her senior year in high school. At that time, she watched some painting shows on television and decided she wanted to learn to paint. She bought some oil paints, and began to teach herself.. She also got a few private lessons with a local artist. About ten years ago, she transitioned to water-soluble oil paints to minimize exposure to any harmful chemicals. She draws her inspiration for painting from nature and likes to paint landscapes. Since she is surrounded by the beauty of the mountains of Colorado, there is a lot of inspiration to draw upon. She also recently has begun branching out to abstract painting with acrylic paints and experimenting with various filters in digital graphics applications.
