About the Item
This abstract painting depicts the Arctic Ocean from above. I didn't have a template and designed the composition as I thought it should be. This painting was the first time I worked with modeling paste (prepared and made by myself) back in 2018. Ice floes and larger areas of ice can be seen. In view of climate change and the associated rise in water temperature and thus increased plant production in the Arctic Ocean, I not only worked with shades of blue, but also let the ice break up over “green” water. The canvas used is recycled. This means that the previous motif was preserved/sealed and then a new motif was created – Arctic 1. Materials: Acrylic paints, acrylic binder, gesso, marble powder, coarse and fine-grained modeling pastes, modeling gel, and alcohol.
