Artist Dorothy Dunn presents an abstract seascape with saturated hues of turquoise. "There is a fleeting moment when the sun breaks through a stormy sky and illuminates the ocean below," says Dorothy. She captures that magical moment when the atmosphere appears to have a sunlit opening to the heavens. The raw outpours of color elicit a feeling of tranquility. The painting can be hung either vertically or horizontally.

About the Artist
Dorothy learned the joy of putting color to canvas in her grandfather’s art studio at an early age. He encouraged her to explore art using oil pastels alongside his easel while he painted. She soon progressed to her own easel and oil paint, inspiring a love of art she followed through college and into adulthood. Dorothy’s approach to her abstract artwork entails pouring paint in transparent and saturated layers to create sweeping colors across the canvas. Grandfather’s easel still has a place of honor in her art studio, in fact you can see it used to display her paintings on UGallery.
