About the Item
The Thinker is part of an ongoing series of paintings called I'm Still Here. The paintings in this series are abstract-expressionist in nature and are inspired by people in my life.
In this series of paintings I draw on what I have learnt from people, what they have said to me, what I know about them and also how I feel.
The Thinker is a person in my life that has helped me greatly in becoming who I am today. It's called the The Thinker because I see this person as someone who reflects a lot and thinks deeply. One of their favourite quotes, 'Not all that wander are lost' is written into the paint in the bottom right corner of the canvas. There are other elements like this elsewhere in the painting. I create paintings that people can come back to and discover different things each time they look.
