Inspired by the crossroads of human nature and human technology, Dustin Cook makes abstraction look funny. At the core, his work represents playfulness, high energy and uplifting feel that radiates a multifaceted environment.
With a compelling focus on color principles, shape and form, he creates objects interacting with each other, playfulness being the driving narrative throughout his work. He uses organic, nature inspired forms, geometric and more sharp angular forms creating a balance captivating the viewer.

Dustin Cook
Dustin Cook is a Detroit-based visual artist and designer. He is a graduate of College for Creative Studies, and was one of the featured artists in the CCS Student Exhibition 2017. Playfulness is a reoccurring narrative throughout his work explored through sculptural works, paintings and installations. This playfulness comes through by maintaining a formalist focus on color principles, line quality, shape and form, and abstracted representations of symbols and signs. Dustin Cook will debut his first solo exhibition, “Tumble” on March 30th at PLAYGROUND DETROIT.
