The bright hues of color are washed by the sun baking upon the boats, which are endlessly bobbing in the Mediterranean Sea. The motion sets the stage for the young and exciting feeling that permeates the composition of this original oil painting. There is a carefree mood to this 32x46 original abstract impressionist landscape that's enhanced by the large and active brush strokes and the impasto layering of paint. The fast pace amidst the international crowd angling to see and be seen are running amongst the best of them! Artist Sonia Grineva earned both her Bachelors and Masters at the famed Stroganov Art Institute of Moscow before coming to Manhattan to study at the National Academy of Design. The recognition her work received lead to a subsequent scholarship to further advance her skills at the British Institute in Florence, Italy. Her world wide attention has included shows at Time Warner, Forbes, Pfizer, the Standard Club, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Villa d'Este, Capri and numerous other prestigious venues. She is a multiple award winning artist internationally with numerous publications to her credit.
