About the Item
The book "Bezonken Rood" by Jeroen Brouwers served as a source of inspiration for this painting. The artist wrote text fragments in Japanese with metallic foil in bright red colors. The changing incidence of light during the day ensures that the texts stand out more or less. "It is the beginning of August 1945 - I find myself, but I do not know it yet, in an epicenter of world history: what is happening changes the face of the earth, god is de-divinized, life from these days will never be what it was before these days has passed, because in one fell swoop all epoques come to an end and the end is marked by the invisible scar of a burn on the skin of the world and of all humanity, which cannot be made invisible in centuries.
