About the Item
Untitled XXVI (Abstract, medium size) is a unique oil on free-standing canvas painting by contemporary artist Ferle, dimensions are 100 cm x 70 cm (39.4 × 27.6 in). The artwork is signed, sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This painting mixed yellow and grey. Blending gradients with horizontal lines and geometries, this abstract piece captivates with the depth of its colors.
When standing before this abstract painting, shaped by the influences of Minimalism and Abstract Expressionism, the viewer might first seek familiar forms—before surrendering to the visual journey, guided by the canvas’s dynamic energy.
This work encourages us to let go of familiar references and allow ourselves to be overtaken by the spiritual presence it conveys. Interestingly, that spiritual essence seems to contrast with the intensity and forcefulness evident in the act of painting itself. Art historian Emmanuel Daydé observes: “In her work, Ferle creates new space, paints openness and doors to infinity towards a sort of spirituality out of the body itself. She opens a door leading to another space – a fourth dimension. Looking at her large colour paintings, one feels close to the black hole, to physics and to the stars.”
Amid the interplay of color variations, Ferle composes a rich, harmonious rhythm that invites contemplation and introspection.

Elvire Ferle
For Ferle, painting is a ‘moment’ which alone justifies the motion of the artist, mobilized physically by the composition of her work. Her canvasses entice us to abandon all known references and leave us submerged by the spirituality that they are so full of. Her works, nearing abstract minimalism and often in extremely large formats, are composed of colored geometric patterns. Light and colour are central to her pictorial research and even become the focal point of her work. Throughout her long career, the artist has exhibited in museums and galleries in France, Europe and Japan.
