About the Item
Untitled XXVII, Abstract series (medium size) is a unique oil on free-standing canvas painting by contemporary artist Ferle, dimensions are 100 cm x 70 cm (39.4 × 27.6 in). The artwork is signed, sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This painting is composed of three main colors: blue, red and ochre. Blending gradients with geometric form, this abstract piece captivates with the depth of its colors. Standing before this abstract painting—shaped by the influences of Minimalism and Abstract Expressionism—the viewer is first drawn to seek familiar forms, before gradually surrendering to the visual journey guided by the painting’s inner energy.
The canvas invites us to let go of known references and allow ourselves to be immersed in the spiritual resonance it conveys. This spirituality may seem at odds with the forceful gestures behind its creation, yet it is precisely within that tension that the work’s power resides.
Art historian Emmanuel Daydé observes: “In her work, Ferle creates new space—she paints openness and portals to infinity, evoking a form of spirituality that transcends the body. She opens a door to another realm—a fourth dimension. When facing her vast colour fields, one feels close to a black hole, to physics, and to the stars.”
Through her masterful interplay of colour, Ferle constructs a profound and harmonious rhythm that draws the viewer into a state of contemplation.

Elvire Ferle
For Ferle, painting is a ‘moment’ which alone justifies the motion of the artist, mobilized physically by the composition of her work. Her canvasses entice us to abandon all known references and leave us submerged by the spirituality that they are so full of. Her works, nearing abstract minimalism and often in extremely large formats, are composed of colored geometric patterns. Light and colour are central to her pictorial research and even become the focal point of her work. Throughout her long career, the artist has exhibited in museums and galleries in France, Europe and Japan.
