About the Item
"Good Conversation," by Emily May, is a contemporary abstract oil painting done during an artist residency in Bryan, Texas. The work was inspired by a conversation with a collector who came by her studio during the residency. The painting is not currently framed, but the gallery-wrapped edges are painted for immediate hanging. The work has a lot of impasto painting and brushwork, giving it a beautiful texture. The colors are bright, as in the picture. Lighting on this work really makes the shapes and color pop with the powerful contrast and shading Emily May has used.
