About the Item

“Thank you Almodovar, the work of this filmmaker has always touched me, and his last film "La chambre d'à côté" suggested to me the idea of being able to choose the moment of his death in a beautiful, isolated and above all anonymous place”. This film is so beautiful and elegant that I was excited by it, and I wanted to play with this fantasy without trying at all to stick to a reality: no shadow, no light, just collages and colors.. This painting is an abstract work of art that transcends the simple representation of landscape to become a poetic meditation on the theme of the chosen end of life: choosing the time and place of one's death in a beautiful, isolated and above all anonymous setting. The composition reflects this desire for isolation: the landscape is constructed as a floating, fragmented bubble on a neutral white background, symbolizing anonymity and the concept of a place imagined rather than observed. The White House, the most geometric and refined element, is the focal point, embodying the sanctuary where the ultimate decision is made. Technically, the use of a mixed technique rich in material and collage, especially marble powder, is deliberate: the artist refuses spatial realism ("no shadow, no light") and prefers to assemble blocks of color and texture to build the dream. This fragmentation of the landscape reflects the non-linear and mental character of this fantasy. Colors play a key emotional role, where bright yellow (energy and light) contrasts with deep blue (serenity or melancholy), expressing the ambivalence of a voluntary farewell. In the end, "Good-bye" is not a scene of mourning, but the aesthetic and intellectual construction of an act of lucid freedom.
