Aaron Karp has developed a style of painting utilizing various systems of taping to develop fractured fields of color and space. In October, 2007 he was invited for two months as a visiting artist at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska and in February 2008 Karp had a solo exhibition entitled “Bemis Grids” at the Albuquerque Museum. In 2013 Karp participated in a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.     "Linling Lu is best known for her hard-edge, circular abstract paintings with concentric rings of color. Her human-scale paintings have been described as inducing states of meditation. Lu’s work also includes sculptures of interlocking wood blocks, shaped paintings, and sewn fabric collages. Her abstractions have been compared to the Washington Color School painters such as Kenneth Noland. Linling Lu’s large-scale painting compositions are included in Fields and Formations, A Survey of Mid-Atlantic Abstraction, curated by Kristen Hileman. The 12-artist group exhibition recently traveled from The Delaware Contemporary Museum to American University Museum and remains open through May 22, 2022.
