The City Grows is an original abstract painting by Fleur Park. The artist, Fleur Park, navigates space in The City Grows. Fleur Parks art is influenced by the push and pull of her country life vs her old city life. The juxtaposition of these two is seen in most of her work. The fields that surround her in her country life and in her childhood give her the sense of home and space and in this particular piece she presents the fields surrounding her home in a form almost like a patchwork quilt. Colour is also an important factor for Fleur as she is influenced by nature and natural raw colours found within the environment.
