About the Item
Contemporary acrylic on canvas painting by Polish artist Franciszek Ledochowski. Artist used strong colors. The painting is very dynamic. Composition is rather minimalistic however it is contrasted with variety of colors. Artwork is textured, Ledochowski uses many layers of paint which in some places makes the painting three dimentional. Title of the painting is 'Apeiron 79', the word apeiron means infitiny and in philosophy of Anaximander it means source of the world.
FRANCISZEK LEDOCHOWSKI (born in 1981) Studied at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw (where he was influenced by Franciszek Starowieyski), École Supérieure des Beaux Arts d’Angares in France and at the faculty of graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He graduated in 2007. Franciszek Ledóchowski about his work: “What fascinates me the most is ambiguity. I have always tried to find such motifs which do not impose on viewers any unequivocal associations, moods, emotions, thus induce the strong need for interpretation. Sometimes through their uniqueness, or in the contrary, through their indifference. This way, I reach the fundamentals of human perception of the world, this primary feature of the human mind- the need to define.”

Franciszek Ledóchowski
Franciszek Ledóchowski was born on August 1, 1981, in Poland.
